In 2008, funds for the land purchase and for  fencing the land was raised.  Though it took some time, the funds for preparing and registering the land title deeds were also raised and legal title to the  land was registered.

The only outstanding cost to build the refuge center is for the design and building costs.  If you can help raise these funds or provide design advice and/or construction materials and labour; we would love to hear from you. Contact us here.

Given the escalating costs for building materials it is most practical to purchase all materials at the outset of the construction phase. A voluntary team of community leaders will oversee and manage this project.

Photos show the general nature of the land. Current structures will be torn down and materials recycled where possible.
